BCBS reverses proposal to end reimbursement for routine GI procedures

In May 2008, BCBS and their Managed Care company, BlueChoice, announced that they would no longer pay for anesthesia services for "routine" colonoscopies and EGDs.  The service would be considered "medically unnecessary".
